Meet Carin Thoms

Carin Thoms grew up on a farm with her three younger sisters. They spent summer vacations fishing with their grandparents and cousins in central Wisconsin; Carin wrote this book based on those memories after trying and failing to find books for her young nieces about girls fishing. She hopes to inspire girls of all ages to fish and have fun outdoors.

Carin’s background is in higher education and communications, and she also works very part-time as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a senior care facility. With her soft spot for the elderly, she tries to volunteer as often as possible. Being that Carin is also a combat veteran, one of her best memories is traveling as a companion with a World War II veteran as part of the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Carin spends her free time outdoors with her husband, Aaron. You can often find her biking or fishing while trying to avoid getting dirt and worm guts all over the boat. Carin's future plans include a business centered on boating and fishing that encourages families to enjoy the outdoors.
